Analysis of Marketing Services in Slovenia Natisni E-pošta
23. april 1992

Abstract: Despite many economical and social problems, which are very typical for this transition period in former socialist countries, Slovene market for marketing services is growing. Quantitative and qualitative data show that producers are more and more aware of marketing, and they tend to spend greater share of their income on promotion and market research.

To learn more about demand for marketing services, special mail survey was launched this spring. Over 1000 questionnaires were sent out to marketing and advertising managers, asking about types of promotion, organization of marketing function, decision process when hiring an agency, etc. The most interesting results of that survey will be presented and discussed from different aspects.

The supply side has responded vigorously to an increased demand for marketing services in Slovenia. We have now several serious agencies and research institutions, which offer most of marketing services at satisfactory quality. Beside them, there are hundreds of creative groups and individuals who try to compete by all means for their share of "marketing market". An analysis of these different subjects gives us a possibility to partly predict future development of the marketing services market in Slovenia.

We believe that discussion about data and experiences from Slovene market, however small this market is, could be useful for marketers working in similar economic environment.
